Hello all, I am rather new to coin roll hunting, and coin collecting in general. I have been CRH pennies. I usually pick up $10 at a time from the bank and take my time going through them, inspecting each one with magnification. Just wondering what to keep for my collection other than the obvious LWC's, and Errors and Varieties. So far I have held back all of my Canadians, S mint marks, 2009's, and red copper cents from the 60's and 70's. What do other CRHer's keep?

wheats, foreigns, red 60's and 70's, S mint marks, 2009's. Found an Indian Head or two (!)

In addition to those, I often (although not always) keep:

1960 and 60-D--check for small dates
1972--check for double die
1982 and 82-D--check for small dates
1983--check for double die
1984--check for double die
1992--check for Close AM
1995--check for double die

I save them out and check as a bunch (e.g., all the 1972's together, etc.). I put back into circulation those that do not have what I am looking for.

In 1998 I set aside a jar in my shop and tossed in (after checking) every Wheat cent that I found in ordinary circulation. Jar is still there, with 86 coins in it.

I keep the all wheat and IHC (both of them), and if I can improve a memorial cent in my album I do. I keep all the foreign coins. I check the 1992 and 1998-2000 for CAM / WAM. Never found anythin gyet. I have not focused on error the way some folks have. I slowed down with roll hunting for a couple of years and am just staring back up. I have never collected extra 2009's but it seems like lots of folks do.

This list will certainly come in handy, I usually use Lincoln Cent Resource top 50 list, but it is ordered by popularity. This list will be much faster to reference being ordered by date. Nice work ...Thanks!!
