i got a few weat pennys today and in the bunch there appears to be a silver penny, I forgot the year (im not at home) but a few people I talk to are like "theres a silver penny?" so I'm woundring if somthing happend to this coin or if its actully silver? I dont beleve its been cleaned becase its quite dirty, thanks alot

In 1943, due to the copper shortage during WWII, wheat cents were made out of zinc-coated steel. These were produced in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco. For the most part, they don't have a lot of numismatic value unless they are BU. On many of these cents, the zinc coating was questionable, so these cents tend to corrode, rust, and discolor very easily.
