I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the mm. It's a 1938-D, but is this one of the D/S varieties?

Hello and thanks. This is actually an image from ebay. I was curious because NGC would not attribute an identical example for me earlier this year. I didn't realize how many different varieties are actually out there.
