Hi guys,

I have found a coin in my house which I had for more then 50 years got it from my grandpa.. I am really wondering if somebody can identify this and tell me what this coin is and is it anything worth at all?

Sadly this is a copy of a Greek type coin from Gela. If you look at the bottom of the piece you can see the word COPY.

It's not exactly the same as the one that turns up very, very frequently here on the forum - the one with the huge pit in the middle of the bull, like this one here - but it is nevertheless a copy of the same ancient Greek coin.

Replicas like these aren't worth much, a dollar or so at most. A friend on another forum sent me one for free when I bought a couple of other coins off him.
