I've been watching this act for over a year now. The seller is checkpoint18 from Ponce, Puerto Rico. He's gotten slicker in the past year and now calls them "Weak D or No D Lincoln head cent, almost gone." haha lol. He used to call them just No D. I did a brief count via his feedback, and stopped at 20 of these that he has sold. IMO they are altered 1922 Ds. There is also another seller from the same exact town in PR that sells the same stuff. At first glance this coin might look ok, but imo the date area has been altered and he even filed off some of the LIBERTY to make it look good. The strong reverse is wrong. He's been getting away with this for a long time. I've messaged him at times and reported him at others. Maybe a group effort could take him down. reported.

He's up to something, these are rare and it looks like he's sold quite a few. One was very dark, likely covered with grime to hide the alteration.

Notice how the description is worded to be legally ambiguous too

Thanks for the warning, edweather. I think anyone would be crazy to buy one of these raw, especially on E-bay.

This seller and their sister account have probably sold about 50 of these things in the past couple of years. Like BadThad said, and I agree, a lot of them are dark like they went through a fire or something, to hide the alteration. There's no way they have an endless supply of these raw, not to mention that 99% of them are altered. They seem to have found a safe (albeit criminal) niche. But to the ignorant buyer, who thinks they are getting a great ebay deal, there is no defense against.

You can see where the date was blasted. It's grainy all around it.

I have seen very few, genuine DP 1, 3, & 4 in the market. Physically, at shows and dealers, I've seen exactly TWO and likely ~10-15 on the web.

I still stand my theory that they (1, 3, & 4) are more scarce than the popular DP2's. I run into the DP2 pretty often, too bad the prices are off the charts, I still refuse to buy a DP2 due to the inflated prices.

Slicko also blasted some of the LIBERTY off to make the RTY look recut, like on the genuine ones. He's learning. I posted 8 months ago on this seller.
