Its already a while that I bought a new coin, but now I can finally show a new piece!

This might be my best denarius (in condition) so far, I love it.

Vespasian was well known as a very conservative Roman, and continued or revived many traditional types used on coinage of the early Julio-Claudian period. Here he revives the PONTIF MAXIM type that was the primary type of Tiberius (which are commonly known as 'Tribute Pennies')

New-Vespasian-Denarius-'Tribute-Penny'

IMP CAES VESP AVG CENS - Laureate head right
PONTIF MAXIM - Vespasian seated right holding branch and scepter
Mint: Rome (Aug-Dec AD 73)
Wt./Size/Axis: 3.16g / 20mm / 1h

Very nice coin dutch. Congrats. I've also been in a dry spell with not buying any coins lately. Hope that will chance soon.

Real nice example of my favorite Roman profile, Vespasian. Wonderful portrait on this one!

Nice coin DutchGulden. I have seen a gold Tiberius' one of this type. By the way it always seems that after a coin drought you always manage to purchase something amazing?

Patience is the best advice in coin collecting, dont rush and wait for till a good buy comes by instead of chasing a specific coin. Thats what I have learned in the last 2 years by my own experience. There still are good buys to be found on the digital market!
