This type is considered related to the persecution of Christians, reviving pagan imagery to counter the growing Christian movement.
Chrsmat71 and Doucet, thank you for sharing your examples. I am glad that these coins are noted and collected accordingly. These are an interesting type, indeed. I may have some other coins from the "pagan" series too.
