Anonymous Pagan Issues. Ca. A.D. 305-313. Æ 1/12 nummus (16.3 mm, 1.54 g, 11 h). Antioch mint. GENIO ANTIOCHENI, Tyche of Antioch seated facing on rocks, holding ears of grain; river god Orontes swimming below / APOLLONI SANCTO, Apollo standing left, pouring wine from patera, and holding lyre; Z in right field, ANT in exergue. McAlee 170(g); Van Heesch 3(g); Vagi 2954. aVF, black patina with red highlights.

This type is considered related to the persecution of Christians, reviving pagan imagery to counter the growing Christian movement.

Being a Pagan myself, I'm in love with that coin.

I have one with a sand patina as well.

It has a different officina mark. E or I, I have never been sure.

Chrsmat71 and Doucet, thank you for sharing your examples. I am glad that these coins are noted and collected accordingly. These are an interesting type, indeed. I may have some other coins from the "pagan" series too.
