Hi...my first time posting, hubby has a keen eye for money and came a cross a 2014 Twoonie that looks like it has an actual finger/thumb print embedded in only the centre part, on the polar bear, and above it....I'd say the print covers more than half of the centre of the twoonie.
Anyone else ever come across something like this? I came across rippling, but it truly looks more like a print.
Jo-Ann, welcome to the forum. I have seen fingerprints on lots of coins before, none of which were part of the design. oils on the finger can transfer over to the coin, and over a few months develop the pattern on the coin. you can try and use acetone to try and remove the print (search on the forum for correct methods).
but if you could upload some images (need close ups of the area in question) as well as both sides of the coin, then we can do our best to help you out.
Jo-ann picture are worth a thousands words on this forum, if you could provide a picture of the Obv & Rev. We can give you the correct answer your looking for
