Is it just me or am I noticing a pattern? It seems everyone that collects coins also collects or owns guns?

Christina, I have mine, but it is my wife you need to worry about. She believes in shooting first and plugging the holes later.

Sign........"Trespassers will be shot......Survivors will be shot again" ! "God be with the man who Trespasses on a Rednecks property or home" ! "If you need help, I'll give ya the shirt off my back...... but steal from me and I'll have you dig your own hole" ! "Forget the dog.....Beware of owner" ! Maybe these signs would "better secure" our coins and personal property !!

I agree with atlashealth, I think it is silly to keep everything in one location. Like someone said in an earlier thread, they fill a safe up with bricks that is easy to carry off. So putting a few coins in a safe that is easy to break into might give an intruder a sense of accomplishment that they got what was "valuable" when they overheard some conversation. The only thing is if the intruder is after a particular item that they know is in the house then that might be a different story. Most break-ins are probably spur of the moment, let them "think" they got something valuable.

Buy the best safe you can, fort knox is a nice brand. Have it delivered during the day take a day of from work. tell know one whats in it and try to hide it. I dont own one I have hunting rifles and always looked at buying one. Like mentioned before the safe is a good way to invite being robbed. My valuble coins are in 2 boxes at the bank. I have digital pics and records of all the serial numbers of the slabs.I keep stuff for sale and trade at my house not alot. Tell your children to never talk about yuor coins to there friends. Get a alarm system for your house and if you go on vacation remove the coins and put in a box at the bank till you return.

I use one for things I bring home from the bank. Nothing stays in it long. Whoever said if someone is holding a gun to your head, you'll open it, is right on. It keeps honest people out :)
