Do you think the odd cut on the upper right hand corner was done during the process of making the note?

I know this type of cut was very common with confederate notes but I didn't think it would be nearly as common with these.

Looks trimmed to me -- Someone probably cut it at some point.

Yes, I would agree that this was deliberately trimmed, perhaps to cut away a small tear.

I don't think so. The BEs are always tight on the top and bottom, and I think this one is just O/C to the right. Aside from the trimmed area, all of the other edges look natural and worn to my eye.

Trimmed a long time ago, most probably by somebody who did not understand, that 'improving' the note would detract from it's notaphilic value.

I agree, provided that if 'improving' it was the reason for it being trimmed, then that reason was to
remove edge tears or tatty edges.

I stand corrected. I can see the clear trim on the right edge as I look more closely.
