The recent web note find reminded me that I had found one a couple of years ago given as change at a Pawsox game. I had just learned what a web note was maybe a week or 2 earlier and then happened to find one in the wild. It has been sitting on my dresser untouched until now.

Neat....I remember buying 5 or 6 web notes WAY back when......1995 .. 1996? somewhere back then. Still have them in my safe, except for the F* one. Sold that one for a couple of hundred more than I paid for it. Wish I had kept it.

They were an experiment by the BEP to see if they could print currency on a "web press" using continuous rolls of paper instead of the traditional method of individual (32 note) sheets on an intaglio press.

They were put into circulation, but they're not easy to identify - you have to know the series and the specific serial number ranges.

Much easier than knowing the serial ranges, is honestly to just look at the back of the note (1993, 1995, 1988a). If the plate number is above the "ONE", then you've got one.
