Issued by -- Catholic Relief Services........token was originally affixed to a card reading, as follows...."Angel of God, My guardian dear, To whom His love, Commits me here, Ever this day, Be at my side, To light and guard, To rule and guide." Sold by religious supply stores and on the net, they come in numerous styles, and materials. Some people pass them out or leave them for the unsuspecting to find, Mostly for the depressed, or sad to try to lift their day. Others leave them on the street or other public places for random people to find. Somtimes as above they are used as a fund raiser.
Here is another style I recently got in a bulk swap of tokens.

Some do claim that their lives have been changed, after finding the token. Again depending on what you believe.

The top one can also be used as a fellowship type token, that is passed out at religious services along those lines, or brotherhood etc. in additional to love. The values aren't much since they are currently being sold and used new. But it is all over the map on the net. As some are plated plastic, aluminum, brass, or in the pic of the one I showed silver. People also try to get a premium for ones that have created a miracle in their lives.
