Well, I jumped into deep water with this latest purchase. I love a challenge and the variety of Mint Marks available for Half and Quarter Eagles has me in its clutches. I started out with a great one and the quest will continue: O, "P", D(x2), S and CC. Woe is me!

May I introduce my first lady:

When you start with such a great coin for putting that set together, it will make some of the rest of them seem easy.

Love your Avatar, by the way!

I lived in Hawaii for quite a few years and the place never leaves you. Have a complete set of da kine coins mounted in Koa wood thanks to another CCF member with fantastic woodworking skills. PG

I stay pretty close to whatever my current interests are.
BUT
Back a couple years ago I decided I just HAD to have a Charlotte and Dahlonega Mints coins; I lean towards the somewhat less commonly collected items.
So I got my "C" and "D" half eagles (they are less expensive than the quarter eagles and forget abot the dollars).
Then I switched back to normal mode.

Now I've sort of wandered off again.
I'm working on a SL "Arrows at Date" set.
That includes Half Dimes, dimes, quarters and half dollars.
The years vary slightly from face value to face value.
But they all fall in 1853, 1854, 1855, 1873 and 1874.
There are 45 date/mm varieties 7 of which are in the expensive range.
Right now I have 29.
Rest in Peace

Sounds like a fun adventure PG! Does this mean you completed your '88-O Morgan set?

Kanga - what a great collecting goal!

How about the No-Arrows varieties for some of these dates?

No to the completion Dave. I've managed to squeak past Logan and into third spot on the Registry, but am light years behind Ash. Those darn later stages of the 1B are killers. I do have Stages 1 through 7 though. PG

Charlie,

That is some coin you got there. Good luck finding nice Dahlonega mint coins they are harder to find. I am sure with enough patience you'll find one.
