When going through new bacth of wheats I heard what sounded like silverish. So I looked for it and it turned out o be this 1910. I had to weigh it and it is only weighing 2.7 grams I dont know the tolerance but is this roled thin? of wieght planchet? Is it an error ? Is it even worth anything

Looks normal to me. probably thin looking because of wear. nothing silverish about it. G-04

yeah I know it isn't silver that would either be fake or make me rich I do know it has a little wear on it but I have other coins that look way worse and weigh more? Could it really be just the wear that makes it miss that much metal and sound so thin ?

Probably a thin planchet and wear.

0.41 g difference seems to be a major variance! That is 13%+. When holding next to another early LWC, is there visibly any difference in the thickness? Do you have the ability to measure thickness?

Here is the weight of a 1919-S worn so badly that he date is barely readable:

So the 1919 is more well worn than the 1910 and still is close to normal weight.

It would be interesting to know the planchet thickness of the 1910. I believe the spec for thickness of current Lincoln Cents is 1.52 mm, but I could not find any specs for early Wheats.

Sorry it took so long to reply I been busy but I have the specs for this coin. It weighs on my buddies scale 2.7 grams also and as far as thickness on the rim I'm looking at .048 inches and diameter .749 inches if I need to convert I will but I cannot find what specs should be either

Ok well in MM at its smallest I measure 1.193 mm and a it's biggest it's 1.27 mm thick ...... so maybe tapered planchet? Or is it underweight planchet is it an error hahaha.. well edited I found the specs http://coins.about.com/library/US-C...in-Specs.htm so it obviously is underweight and very thin . Anyone know a value ? Worth getting slabbed?

It's a keeper, but definitely not worth getting slabbed. Probably around thirty cents.
