I found this CRH. I was wondering what your thoughts were on it. Is it real and damaged, or is it damaged to make it look real?
I only see scratches on the right side of the "1" and I can't see any kind of "shadow" that would indicate it was a '44 that they turned into a '14.
If this is real, this is probably the best coin I've found so far!!

Definitely altered... They very obviously mutilated a 24 into a 14.

Not illigal unless you sell it as a 1914 D. Altered date.

Easy way to check: is there a VDB in Lincoln's shoulder?

Anyway, this is an altered coin.

The mint mark position matches up with a 1944-D cent.
Now you know, it is an altered 1944-D Lincoln Cent.

If you were a coin date alterer and botched altering a date into a 1914D, what would you do with the botched attempt (besides put it on ebay)?
Rest in Peace

I don't think they would use a semi-key 24-d to make it in a 14-d. The 44-d makes more sense.

Worthless honestly, even you'll get crap for spending it.

I'd just take a sander and sand it down.

Or throw it into a lake.

That's what I'm doing with my 1944 S altered to a 1914 S.
