I don't know enough about coins, tokens and medals to even classify what this is. That being said I am leaning towards a trade token from india?.. lol
I found these and more during an extremely low tide
I don't have the measurements or weight just yet as I'm out of town for a few weeks.
I would like to learn more about these
thanks

It's some sort of Hindu religious token containing a magic square to invoke the power, grace, or protection of a particular deity.

A few Google searches showed that coins with similar magic squares have also been found in water, indicating that these were made to be cast into a river or ocean as an offering.

A lot of 'old' chinese coin replicas are tainted with gypsum or plaster to give them an antique look

The coin is definitely cast; given the rather large seam around the rim of the token. Is it even metal? Could very well be plaster if this is made as a throw-away. Think of it as a Hindu equivalent of Chinese heck money.

The use of magic squares in prayer has ancient roots in Vedic astrology, but is widely practiced today. I would say there is no reason to believe this was ever meant to be ancient... could even be as recent as a few years old.

Was it found in India?
