I heard there is somewhere around 70 known out of the approximate 5,000.

What is even the value on one of them still sealed?
Rest in Peace

A PCGS MS67 sold for $6462 in January on Heritage and a PCGS MS68 sold on Herigate in April for $7931. MS 67's have had at least a couple sales a year since 2012 and have gone up in price about $1000 a year for the past 3 years.

If dollar coins circulated more it might be worth coin roll hunting for this, just for the thrill of the hunt if nothing else.

I vividly remember my dad asking if this coin was worth anything back when it came out and I told him, no, think of it like a $1 coupon off but on anything you want, not just Cheerios.

Even if it turned out to be the correct variety, you would still likely need to get it certified at MS66 or higher to make a return on it

One came up a couple years ago on a recently sold search. It was bundled with some junky silver bar and went for something like $40. It was BIN and went in minutes. Wish I had caught it.
