That explains it then. I'm not sure what my ratios are for DDs, RPMs, and the like, but I do find a handful or so that require some study with each box. Normally, I only keep 5-10 nickels a box: low mintage, higher grade stuff.

Wow, changed it up on us. You should build a set. You may already have a Jefferson set, but building one from boxes would be fun.

Yes jbuck, you'll quite a number to go into a set, maybe all of them except the 39-d or some of the S war nicks...

The 1943D took some time to find, but I found 2 (maybe 3) so far making it the hardest wartime nickel for me to find. The tough ones to find are the sub 10 million mintage nickels. And for me on the east coast, finding S mint Jeffersons (pre 60s) an uncommon event.
