I think the idea is that our members each post a picture (but only if you're comfortable with that). I would like to wait to post a pic until my hair grows back. I'm as bald as Telly Savalas right now and the flash bulb would reflect off my head!!

OK, Rick, OK, here's one of me. Short, fat, and ugly. Too bad if you looked. It's not recent - taken in 1997 on my first trip to Labrador, but I haven't got anything similarly contextual (outdoors, fisherman, ruggedly independent; sorry, I sold my BMWs). The only change to me is I'm now fatter, my hair is greyer, and I try more to avoid photos of me. [Note: if this image takes up too much space, the html can be modified to show as a hyperlink rather than an imbedded image.]

Stujoe, did anyone ever tell you you look like Donald Sutherland? (This is a good thing.) Fred

I don't think anyone has ever said Donald Sutherland. Some people have said I look like George Kennedy, though. (That is not such a good thing. ) Someone on another forum even made up this pic and called it "Seperated At Birth': http://stujoe.com/album/albums/user...93bcf26d.jpg

Fred, you know you could always winter a little closer to the new Mexico area!!
Are you anywhere close to quartzite AZ ?
I figure by now that area has a pop of about 10,000 from a normal of I think about 40 .

Rick, two winters ago, I parked (read: squatted) in Coronado Natl Forest near Nogales. I found the elevation (4000') was a little too brisk in winter (down to low 20s at night) although it was very nice during the day (60s +/-). NM and closer to NM are also higher than where I am now at 1420', about 60 miles east of Quartzsite & 90 mi west of Phoenix. I think this site was the only location in the US (expensive south FL excepted) that didn't see dreaded/hated s**w. Quartzsite is a zoo in winter with most of the RV snowbirds hanging around (I think it's more like 40K people), but it's a great place to shop for RV-type thingies (like I need: another solar panel, sun canopy, wind generator). It's also nice to return to my tiny community with its max population of 60. I just don't like crowds and cities, prefer the company of rattlesnakes (don't read too much into this). Fred
