I know these are not in the best shape. But I got these way less than market value, but I would still like to see what others think of them.

The scratches really came out in this pic. they are barely noticeable in person and can really only be seen from a certain angle. I am guessing in got dragged at some point in its life

I got these for a couple bucks more than melt, so I think even though they arent in the best shape, I got a pretty good deal. I could tell that there were two type ones, and I could almost make out a Mintmark on the 27, but I could not be sure of what it was.

I think you did okay on these as well; as long as you're happy that's all that really matters

Oh. I am very happy. Mostly because I was able to cherry pick these in an auction when this is not a particular set that I normally collect, although have always liked. I only have a handful of SLQ's that are not slicked and bullion grade and none were key dates or type 1's before this.

As far as the acetone, I considered it based on info I have read here. Although I have never tried it before. I cant tell if it is just a stain or tape residue.

I was so excited when I got the delivery confirmation on this one, as I wasnt totally sure what the 27 was. When I confirmed it was an 'S' I was very happy.

They all get a big thumbs-up from me. Nice coins without major problems, and yeah, acetone might do the job on the 17D.

I'll pick up some acetone tomorrow and try it out on one of the common date coins that came in this lot
