Im a Canadian collector, so I'm out of sorts when I came across a 1879 cc silver dollar , Now I didnt pay much for it, the seller claimed it was a fake, but Ive seen alot of fake coins coming out of China , most are Magnetic and this one is not, it rings silver, I paid marginally more then silver price for it

it seams thin .074 inches
with an over all diameter of 1.480 to 1.4825
with my automotive dial caliper

its got some reversed double die action going on
like the coin was double stuck with another coin on top
I can make out reversed letters R O
but its only on one side

Ok guys huh is the story with this coin?

I would say that the seller was right. I think there was another thread about a Morgan with similar die clashing on a coin that many claimed was fake.

The design is off in many places. This coin is a fake.
