I found this coin a few years ago in with a roll of dimes. Its a 1998 cent but looks like a dime since its the same size. Can acid or Dryer Coin look like this.

I would say it is a Dryer Coin. it was probably stuck in one of the ones at the laundry mat, the edges are typical, and the washed out devices are spot on for this.
