I went to my local bank, town of only 600 people. The teller told me she has $30 of halves in the vault. She let me take them off their hands. One of the rolls was this one...

2004-P Mint roll

The ends are turned in so I don't know if they were ever opened but the ends are crimped really well, professionally. The ends are also a golden/yellow color except for the very middle.

Is it a good find?

Well you spent $10 for $10 in halves. How far wrong can you go?

Now you just decide what you want to do. you can keep them in the roll, open the roll and look at them, or tease a cat with them if you really want.

I would open them and look for the best one. But that is just me.

well not exactly... anything made after 2001 is considered NIFC, or not intended for circulation. the mint still makes halves, but they now have to be specially ordered, but for a premium. if you put that roll on ebay, you can most likely get more than what you spent on it. if you're like me, and like to know what exactly is inside, open it and see if theres any really nice uncirculated coins in there, as tryna said

I opened it earlier, picked the best one for myself. All of them had small scratches or wear from being tossed around it appears.

These will be going into circulation when I dump them Monday, someone might eventually find some really nice NIFC 2004's when they buy rolls from this bank.

Very nice!

I am glad you opened it. If not, I would have had to tempt you.
