My in-laws recently took a trip back home to TX and while there, my father-in -law's mother mentioned a collection of State Quarters that his father had purchased a few years back off of TV, infomercials, online, etc. Given that my father in law knew that I was into coins and errors and had made some $ off of them, so he brought them back for me to look through. I know and have seen the cheesy infomercials in attempt to sell " Mint Collectable Coins" but didn't think and am not sure that they check these for errors. Is it worth my time to go through them or should I expect that they are smarter than that? Thanks!

I wouldn't think you would find anything valuable but if you CRH and commonly search coins for errors why not give it a go. Keep us posted and

Worst case scenario you don't find anything. But if you find an error it's already protected and would in much better condition than if you found it in your spare change or through circulation.

Starting the search!! First thing I did when I got them was check if there were any Wisconsins bc that's the only State Quarter error I'm very familiar with (other than the others that are listed in Ken's book). Anyone have a list or link to a list of State Quarter errors? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

I've heard there are some Minnesota quarters that have an extra tree, and there are also some Hawaii quarters with an extra island.

Yes do take a hard look at your 2004-D Wisconsins.
