Not too long ago someone posted a site that had a wonderful listing of all the Lincoln varieties. I did a google search, hoping to find it again as I did not save the address, but I did not come up with that same site. I found a number of other sites but none of them were as good.

The site that was previously listed included great detail on all of the Lincoln cents varieties. Could someone please direct to that address again (I promise to save it this time!)?

Thank you very much, Pete.

I usually don't spend much time with Lincolns but I had a pretty big bag of them and I dumped out a couple handfuls and saw a ton of mint luster on a lot of 30's and 40's issues, so I thought it would be worth my time to finally work on these.

After separating a few thousand I'm seeing LOTS of D mm, an occasional Philadelphia, and almost no S mm. This is typical of the midwest (Minnesota), since most of our coins come from Denver. It is reassuring since most of these came from estate sales (actual honest to goodness really estate sales). If there was much besides Denver issues, I'd be concerned.

NOW it's time to get out the loupe and check that pile of 44 D's and the few 46 S's. I didn't even realize those existed until I saw this site.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me find it.

moxking, another site for attributing varieties, RPMs, OMMs, etc is Wexler's: http://doubleddie.com/

A ton of great information there.

Thanks for all the help in locating those sites.

I've had the poor LWC's on the back burner for many years (maybe decades) and I just happened to pull the bag out yesterday and when I saw that there were so many with mint luster remaining, especially in the 1930's and 1940's I figured it was high time I spent some time with them.

I know it's unlikely that I'll find anything rare, but with so many having full mint red it seems that I must look into them.

I'll post anything yummy, and at some point if anyone needs some D mintmarks from the 30's or 40's I'm guessing I'll have plenty of spare reds.

The '44-D/S is quite difficult to find, in my experience. Sme time back I bought 9 rolls, 4 of which were AU/Unc. Out of those 450 coins, I only found 1.
