When?
In 2016? Then it's about time to inform the general public.
Here in the Euro zone -- where the EZB is changing the notes from ''series 1'' to ''Europe series,'' they give a ''warning'' of 9-11 months before the new notes are actually issued (in Nov. the new 20 will be released).
I think, in this day and time it's necessary to get the information out several months in advance.

Regarding the new NZ notes. Well, their design/style looks very much like the current Canadian banknote series (with a dash of Euro design), although the motifs are of course different.

We do not know when, but the Reserve Bank have been talking about it for the last three years. As for the Kiwi money, the Canadians are printing them, hence the similarity.

Yeah, I read that the Canadians not only printed them, they designed them. Now, the Kiwi notes just look like cousins to the Canadians.

The Kiwis should have held a design contest like Norway did for its new banknotes. Some really great designs were entered into the norwegian competition.

Those new Norwegian banknotes with the coloured bars are some of the most unusual designs I've ever seen. Incredibly modern on one side and beautiful traditional artwork on the other. I read they intend to produce them in 2017.
