Same date/similar condition coin sold for $53 on Aug 30 & another sold for $50 Aug 29. Good luck, we love large cents!

It looks to have been cleaned at some point and has some really ugly splotchy retoning going on, and the reverse has notable damage above ONE CENT.

I would bid no more than VF35 money for the coin. If it sells for the $36 it's at now, it's a deal. I would not go much higher than $50 max.

cool, $50 was what I was thinking. nwplaza, where did you find the prices of past sold coins?

I'm no nwplaza but if you do an Advanced Search on ebay just check the "Search completed listings" box.

1853 is by far the most common year available. $71 is way way way too much money. I wouldn't have paid more than $30 for it.

there is a bad hit on chin. they say they don't grade their raw coins, but top listing on this says AU++. color of coin is way off. Need I go on ?
