Can anyone help me ID this coin. Not yet received, I have checked wildwinds, acsearch and coinproject but can't find a match. It looks to me like Hygia feeding a serpent.

Seller says it is around 30mm no weight given.

@ B.D. You did well to find this under Severus Alexander. Congratulations. Different reverse legend under Julia Mamaea.

Are you really sure that itīs a genuine coin?
I think that itīs very "ugly" (lack of details, pits over the surfaces...), I suspect that could be a cast copy, but of course Iīm judging only with a photograph...

I won't know until I have it in hand. At the price I am not bothered either way. Yes, I agree with you, it is very ugly!

i would guess it's just a worn coin...maybe one that was some weakness in the strike to begin with.

It doesn't look as bad as the photograph, still not beautiful though! It weighs 18.27g so is the lightest of the sesterti on Wildwinds RIC 694.
