I have used a pair of large slip lock pliers to "release" hundreds of the little beauties from their plastic coffins. This is what I've found with the individual TPG's..... ANACS and PCGS holders fracture below the label. That makes for a very easy removal by inserting a small flat blade screwdriver and twisting. NGC holders tend to crack at the upper corners. After that, pick the point of least resistance and go for it. ICG slabs are, well, a royal pain to open. The plastic used is more pliable and "gives" a lot rather than fracturing like the others do.... Hope this helps.. PG

The hammer, towel and concrete floor works for me as well. Cheap and quick. Just double check which end of the slab you are hitting.

Dremel or just a saw of almost any kind. Simply cut off a few edges and they fall apart. NO flying pieces of plastic.

I use Craftsman wire cutters. I squeeze hard and hear the satisfying crack of plastic.
I do this with circulated cleaned coins, which then go into my change purse or pocket. After a few months they revert to their wild natural appearance. Catch-and-release for coins.

A Dremel Tool, cutting wheel, and a flat blade screwdriver is all I've ever used.
