I've had this Spanish Reale for almost 20 years. It used to have a Certificate of Authenticity but I've lost it (go figure) but I do know it is authentic which at least is a good place to start. Besides that, I don't know anything about it but would love to find out as much as I could. Thanks in advance for any help I could get.

It is one of the most counterfeited coins in the world. Yours isn't even very cobbish looking. Identifying what you have has become a new subject. Stay tuned.....

The wear patterns look to be authentic, but a TPG would say otherwise.

I was thinking of sending it to the Mel Fisher people to get an appraisal to see what they say? would that be a good way to go?
