I think the answer is because successful auctions mean revenue for ebay.

But I would LOVE it if, every time I run across ridiculous auctions, I would simply block the seller for all eternity. That way none of their auctions will clutter my searches in the future.

I think it would really enhance my buying experience, and add pressure to sellers not to get blacklisted (from buyers) with their stupidity.

You can create custom searches and block sellers from showing in those. I've set one up to research for the Auction of the day at the top of the page.

I agree though, a blanket "get lost" option would be cool.

In the coin area alone if I could just cut out three or four sellers, I would save myself some time, but I would lose a few good chuckles.
