This thread begs for a larger pic of just the date and the mintmark shot straight on. Perhaps that would settle it. Can you get a shot like that?

Is it possible the tail of the "9" took a hit? Look at the picture two pictures ago (4th post down) and zoom in. It looks like there is a mark where the bottom of the tail used to be. I really want this to be a small date for you....but I'm not sure. Are you able to take a close up of the date and mint mark?

After I go pick up my wife from work I will see what I can do about a closer picture, but my photographic resources are very limited. I'm fairly certain the 9 has not taken any nicks or dings, just even wear throughout the coin. The 0 does seem a bit high but (this is my VERY novice opinion) it may be that it sort of "smudged" as it wore over time. Also someone said that what I thought may have been doubling was died at irriation maybe the small edges made it easier to wear at a certain angle? heck I don't know that probably sounds completely retarded to you guys but it seems plausible to me. I will state that the coin in the picture posted by Bob131313 looks so similar to mine, that I might venture to say they came from the same die. Even the wear on LIBERTY
