When I buy a box of pennies from the bank, I often wonder...does it come from a different part of the state, the county, the area..., the country! If I bought a box of pennies tomorrow, would it be possible that it could come from Montana or California? Or would I just be getting coins from other parts of the state...I would be obliged if you could answer my question.

I believe the pennies would come from merry old England. . .

While I'm not overly familiar with the American banking system, I'm pretty sure that, since a boxful of coins is a pretty heavy thing to carry around (and therefore expensive to ship anywhere), then the generic and not-very-helpful answer to your question is, "From somewhere as close as possible".

Exactly where that "close as possible" place is, would vary depending on the bank or, more directly, on the armoured car company which that bank uses to deliver their coins. But I suspect that obtaining such specific information would be very hard to obtain from either the bank or their contractors. After all, there's no particular reason why you as a bank customer need to know that.

When you buy a box of coins (cents) in this case it comes from the nearest armoured car company and delivered to the bank or credit bureau. Unless you get a box from a customer like boxes that I turn in that I have already searched if you went to my dump bank

They are produced by magic. The banks hire real magicians that just make those appear and then they are sold to customers.
Or they are made by little elves at night.
Or there really are no such things and if you think you've bought some, it is all an illusion.
OR no one really knows for sure.

Sap and John1 have it right on the 'money'.

That's why the big-time rollers dump their coin out of state, if possible. Otherwise you will eventually be searching the same coin over and over again, with collections being dumped into the mix.

Sounds like the time is ripe for some experiments in coin defacement
