Hello

I wonder if you guys can help me again? I am struggling to identify this. I found it in my garden in Winchester. I live on the site of a medieval fair which ran every year from 1100 to 1500 and drew traders from all over Europe. Is it possible that it was lost during this? Its very thin like a hammered and has a diameter of 19mm. Thanks again!

Perhaps you should visit a local museum?

I certainly will but if anyone on here can help that would be great. I haven't been detecting for long and this is the first thing I've found that looks like a hammered.

Bob's put you on the right track. Look into "sterling bust" jetons; this one may combine two of the known reverses.
