I see what you are seeing. Between of the 50 and the C. I think it's more discolored and it kinda makes it look like a hole.

It looks filled in because it appears to be raised. Also, the perfect spot to hole for a necklace..... Hmmmm

Good on the seller for disclosing the problem.

I think it is an excellent plug job.

Normally, I would value such a piece at only 10% for condition, but in this case, it could be as much as 50% for condition.

I have to admit, at close looking at the pictures, there IS an element of doubt in my mind that it is indeed plugged. That is why I think it could be worth as much as 50% of value for condition. Even if it IS plugged, it is a darn good job.

I think it's plugged. Can anyone see the tooling marks on the reverse at about 6 o'clock between the 0 and the C?
Rest in Peace

It's definitely holed and plugged. It's too bad because it still has a lot of meat and excellent die clash marks, especially on the obverse.

Looks plugged, but until you get the actual coin and are able to look at it under magnification and angles, you can't be sure.

Point taken. In this case, you really have to look at the coin in hand with a 10X loupe.
