I received this from my grandmother in 1949 among other coins she had stashed in a drawer in a large oak buffet. I was 8 at the time. Anyway, I finally looked at this coin close with a new camera microscope I have. Clearly, an enterprising scammer tried to make an 1859 Indian Head cent into an 1850 IHC. I wonder if he/she fooled anyone before my grandmother got the coin. Hope it wasn't her. Are such examples attractive to anyone. Not a very good effort though.
