Is there a safe way to cover my coins but still make them visible in the cheap green Littleton and other companies album? I recently bought 3 dansco albums with coins at an estate sell and really like them now because of the way they keep the coin protected from both sides.

Not really much you can do to "improve" those folder-type holders. If you are on a tight budget like me, you might consider these albums. I've got several and I've been pleased so far.

Not sure what you mean. All albums should provide protection and ability to see coins from both sides.

Are you referring to Littleton folders? If so, the best option is to replace them with albums.

They said album but clearly mean folder. When closed the folder protects the coins where you fill them in the holes, and open or closed the othr side is "protected" from scratches. They are looking for a way to protect the exposed part of the coins AFTER the hole is filled, maybe some kind of mylar that could be stuck to the folder. The adhesive would probably damage the coin over time.

I once thought about taking some stif mylar and making notches like old photo albums have where you could slide the photo in and cutting the thicker mylar into sqaures to fit those holes to hold it in, but thought against it.

Just need a coin safe adhesive to be able to put a sheet of mylar down to cover the holes once the page of the folder is filled to protect all the coins from further scratching or falling out. Maybe there is a good tape that won't damage coins? Itherwise you would need to staple a mylar sheet over the page of the folder to hold the coins in as if it wer a giant coin flip. Maybe there is small brad that could be used as well. Then if it looks tacky or doesn't stack well you just makeshift a book cover for the folder so you don't see the protrustions on the outside and they dont snag on anything to pull them out.

whether anything like that exists, I have no idea.

This might be wrong thread to ask on, but does anyone know of a Washington quarter album that only covers pre-65 silver? Is only option with dansco or others going to bring me to 90's?
