received a coin today that looked decent enough on the obverse and reverse. More tannish in color and less red than sellers pics. The rim however looks a bit strange to me. About 90 percent of it looks ok. Uniform light brown color. The other 10 percent looked either almost black with some untoned reddish areas near the blackish area. Sign of recoloring that didn't work very well on the rim?

Maybe apply a little acetone to the darkened area and see if the color comes off.

tried that Ed. Verdicare did a nice job on the surfaces but the rim dark area remained. I am going to take it to the coin shop to get his opinion today. Might keep it might not.
