I understand that a column sort note is like the British equivalent to a star note - in that it is a replacement note trying to keep the stack numerically coherent. However it is not so obvious and I am not sure about a note I am contemplating.

Is it normal for the last two digits of the serial to be off in this manner?

OK so having looked at quite a number of these the last two digits often appear a little bigger, and I have seen with them slightly out of alignment but not to the same extent as this note. They were hand set (a practice that no longer continues because the digital process is different with no need for replacement notes anymore)
