Hi collectors,
I have these two Tibetan tangkas and I would ask your help, first of all to confirm that they are genuine and not counterfeited, and then to give a correct classification to them, considering that some varieties of this tipology exist.
The first one has a diameter of mm. 28 and a weight of gr. 5,2; the second one has a diameter of mm. 26 and a weight of gr. 4,2.
Thanks in advance to anyone who will bring his opinion in my topic.

Andrea

I have several of these and the series date around late 1880's to about 1912. While I don't know about the values of specific varieties and a few are worth a bit more than others, I do know the key symbol for the varieties is the 2 fish symbol just to the right of the top symbol that is right above the lotus flower when it is upright, which is the orientation pictured on both. The top coin has 2 fish with a dot above and a vertical symbol between them. The second one is the 2 fish with 5 dots that I never saw before. My opinion, the top one is VF-XF with a rim ding and the lower one is fuzzier maybe VF. The top one appears genuine, with nice strike, but the bottom one may be cast and could be a contemporary counterfeit, but I am not positive, though its lightness and smaller diameter are suspicious. I will weigh all of mine and let you know if there is any variation. Touch a magnet to both and that will eliminate a Chinese fake, but not a cast silver counterfeit.
