I get an attitude sometimes but I know I can be a numismass. Don't take anything anyone says to heart goes with anything you ever try to learn. Take what you need and forget the rest. Also if it helps I stunk at pictures and only thing that helped me was my $30 USB microscope. Night and day different . Or you could just practice with what you got I was just lazy.

What are you using to take pictures? Maybe someone is using the same thing and can offer you some pointers.

Thank you Tweak800 and Dave700x. I use the IPhone and I put the magnifying glass in front of it. I was reading some other post on taking pictures and a few were saying they did it this way also, but I'm thinking maybe get a microscope. I think by doing it the way I've been doing it, it might be the lighting I've been using, or maybe it's the flash on my camera. I don't know I'm going to try the different lighting and try again. It might take me a few days though lol

You can get a USB microscope on ebay for under $15.00, they work pretty good.

Also if you stick with the iphone try the 'olloclip' free app-im sure theres a ton out there but I got used to this one and love it you go to the macro setting to get super closeups but I do use the loupe with the app still. Try the 10x and 16x loupes I find I need to use both of them and along with playing with the light ive been pretty succesfull with it but it did take some practice

Thank you Slamnbass and John1 for all The helpful information. I downloaded the olloclip and am trying that, but how do you get super close ups? They are coming out better so I'm toying with trying to get it this way. I also read the links John1 sent (thank you) and I found another way that might be good also. I tried the gray card as he had mentioned and that really helps but I didn't have any luck with using the volumn button he talked about. I'm going keep trying these different ways- wish me luck lol
Thank you guys

For super close ups I use a 16x loupe with the macro setting(little pic of a flower) and then shoot
