Hello everybody
I love to collect objects from different countries, even if I myself have not been there. I now have 19 objects and it's growing. Anyway, it was my birthday recently and a new friend of mine gave me this Japanese coin.

I can't post a picture and I don't think I can post an external link either. So if you could go to wikipedia and search for the Japanese mon currency and look at the first coin- top- that's it! I just wanted to know what it would be worth and if it were easy to get because I wouldn't want him to have gone through any trouble.

I would never sell it of course but I was curious. I mean this
thing is the oldest object I have ever had-19th century?!
Thank you!

Japanese "cash coins" are fairly easy to come by, even ones dating back to the 1600's can be bought for only a few dollars. The top coin on Wikipedia right now is a larger coin, denominated 4 mon, with "waves" on the back. This page has lots of useful info on categorizing these coins, and might help you narrow down the date of yours.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
