stacia New Member United States 5 Posts	Posted 10/06/2015 10:55 am Hello all -- I've found an old 1940s-era bill and could use some help identifying it. It's a half bill from Colombia stamped "PROVISIONAL MEDIO PESO" on the front and "MEDIO PESO" on the back. It was in an envelope my dad had labeled as being something he got when he served in the Navy in WWII. I've checked online but most sites talking about this are in Spanish and I don't speak enough to understand what the sites are saying. It's in really bad shape but also in the envelope is a very nice, crisp peso note to compare it to. Here's a photo: What is this? And of course the big question: is it worth anything? Thanks! P.S. If I don't answer ASAP it's because I'm going into the hospital for day surgery tomorrow but I should be back as soon as I'm allowed! Report this Post to the Staff

lettow Pillar of the Community United States 742 Posts	Posted 10/06/2015 12:34 pm It is an emergency issue caused by scarcity of circulating coins. If I am reading it correctly it catalogues as P-397e in the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money with a value of $75.00 in VG. Report this Post to the Staff
