Postal order collecting is gaining in popularity,especially in England,as postal orders strongly resemble banknotes in terms of their
designs.The first postal orders were issued on the 1st. of January 1881 in Great Britain & Ireland.Both British Commonwealth & non-British Commonwealth countries have issued postal orders (or postal notes).Here is a link to a list of the British Commonwealth countries
which are still issuing British postal orders in their local post offices; https://www.maltapost.com/page.asp?p=7083&I=1 .

All British Field Post Offices are issuing British postal orders in a range of denominations from 50 Pence through to 20 Pounds.Here is a couple of links;

British Field Post Offices on land; https://www.bfpo.org.uk/bfponumbers_static.htm .

British Field Post Offices on ships of the Royal Navy; https://www.bfpo.org.uk/bfponumbers_ships.htm .

Here's another link;
www.gbos.org.uk/index.php/Overprint_Postal_Orders .

You will find some more information under 'New B.P.O. Catalogue'.

Scoutjim99,there are no pictures of postal orders.There is a picture of a Canadian postal note posted in the 'Postal Orders of Ontario' section.Postal orders are popular with banknote collectors such as myself,not only because they look like banknotes in terms of their design,but because they were used as currency in the Orange Free State & the South African Republic during the 2nd Boer War (1899-1902),& in Great Britain for short periods during both World Wars.The website https://www.tokencoins.com has a few pictures of the Orange Free State's postal notes.Here is a link to an article on the Irish postal orders; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal...s_of_Ireland .

They occasionally are offered for sale on ebay; https://www.ebay.com or https://www.ebay.co.uk .Type in Postal Order' & you will see what I mean.

There are also a few postal order-related articles here; https://www.numiswiki.com ,but there are no photos.If you have the Pick Specialised catalogue,the Orange Free State & South African Republic postal orders are listed under 'South Africa'.

Scoutjim99,postal order collecting was a very underrated area of notaphily,but fortunately,the collecting of postal orders are taking off in a big way,especially in England.I have over 200 postal orders & postal notes from various British Commonwealth countries in my collection.New Zealand ones are getting far too difficult to find,however,
which is a reason why I have branched out into collecting other British Commonwealth countries' postal orders & postal notes.
