It has taken me a long time to find one of these coins. There is not one that I found on ebay or other popular Numismatic websites. Even though 2001 is still a modern date it was difficult to find one but overall a very High-Quality find.

Does anyone have any history on this coin/medal? Why is so scarce on ebay? Is it rare where collectors hold on to it? Is it worth holding on to it based on an investment point of view?

I look forward to your comments!

The coin specifications are here.

A number of Chinese websites are selling the coin as seen here, here, here, etc.

A specimen in a commemorative box with a "Certificate of Authenticity" is being sold here.

If you scroll down the page to the last image on the above website, you can read a description in English.

I cannot authenticate your particular specimen but you need to be aware that there are fakes of this coin.
