A very desired beautiful 1925 American-Centennial Norse thick medal is a Norse-American Medal. That was sponsored and struck to mark the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the first Norwegian Immigrant Group and was issued as part of the events celebration in 1925. The thick Silver had 33,750 minted, but only 2000 may have been returned for melting. Great medal for any collector along with a great historical story!

Very nice example.

Many collectors consider the Norse Medal to be the 51st type coin in the classic silver commemorative series.

Issued in 3 varieties ... thick, thin and gold. commems did an excellent summary of the Norse, which can be found doing a forum search.

Edit ... commems post is here ...
