I have been always looking for a decent BU walker.

How do you think this would grade?
I have bought from this seller before; his pictures are all scanned, and he always refers to BU as "unused"

I can see decent flow lines towards the right of the obverse, which shows luster even though the scan does not provide evidence of much luster.

How'd I do?

MS64 at the worst, possibly 65, slight carbon spot or light toning on obverse, I can see luster reverse despite the pictures. Fields remarkably clean, and coin looks to be mostly free of nicks and dings, okay but not exceptional strike.

It would have been better off photographing this item out of the 2x2.
As it is, assessing for a grade higher than about MS62 is very difficult, not knowing if some of those tiny marks are just dust particles electrostatically attracted to the Mylar surface, or marks on the coin.
Although I am a fan of patination, I will have to admit that such patination could be hiding a few hairlines.

There are big changes in valuation in the higher grades, and so very accurate grading is essential. I guess this why the American market likes slabbing when it comes to selling.
Otherwise I am not keen on slabs.

Bit of a shame, because there is the possibility of letting a really nice coin go.

Could you get the seller to re photograph it?

Well if you bought it then I'm sorry for your loss. you said you always wanted a bu walker. It pains me to say that wasn't the one you wanted. At least you didn't pay through the nose for it. There are a lot of nice uncirculated WLH on e-bay for you to choose from.

Well, it's a good lesson to learn if it does come back circulated. I have bought things from this seller before and all his items that are labelled as unused truly are uncirculated, moreover, better than standard MS62ish BU.

T-BOP, do you have any evidence that this coin is circulated or cleaned or otherwise not Mint State?

It can go either way, AU-58 or MS-62. I think I see some mint bloom luster around the obverse center and reverse fields. Scans are inferior vs good photo's.

I have picked up a few walkers that looked washed up (scans) and were quite nice when in hand.

show us when you get it, still not bad for the price IMO.

I'm looking forward to you receiving the coin & posting better pix. Scans are bad & pix in 2x2's are bad. Not a great combo.

probably the scans are throwing me off base. I really can't see from pics any mint luster on that coin. not much eye appeal. price you paid reflects on that unc. Walker.

I just got the walker today.
I see a little darkness on the high points of the walker; not sure if that is wear or just heavier bag markings
Back is slightly oxidized/toned; I don't really like the color.
Pics in a bit!
