I don't see why this warrants such a thread. This goes on all the time with all shippers. In 1988 I was working in the shipping dept of a large wholsale retail company in Kittery Me. we shipped a package via UPS to a customer in Brunswick, Me. about 70 miles North.
When we did a tracking search on it several days later (this was before internet tracking)it had gone to Boston then to Missouri then to Kentucky and was found in some podunck town in southern Florida.
Now you just know about faster, that's all.
