Expanding on my collection of Judea Procurators I purchased this coin. Porcius Festus .
He succeed Antonius Felix as Procurator. Festus served his short time in office between 55 and 61 AD only surviving two years before his death. Jewish resentment towards Roman rule was widespread. He continued the imprisonment set forth by Felix on the Apostle Paul and his suggestion to Paul in regard to facing a trial Jerusalem makes him an interesting historical character.
I find this a fascinating coin to own. Felix is next on my hunt.
