Shipping with my Porcius Festus will be this coin.

Antonius Felix was a Procurator of Judea between 52 and 58 AD. History portrays him in a negative light with accusations of being both corrupt and brutal towards the Jewish population. Felix was related to Claudius in another marriage although I've not read exactly how.

His interactions with the Apostle Paul makes this buy of special appeal. It was Felix who tried Paul and had him imprisoned for the next two years passing the issue on to Festus.

Felix was in some trouble with Rome and was recalled by Nero somewhere around 60 AD. Felix was spared punishment for his crimes with the help of an influential ally.

Forgive me as I've been posting quite a bit over the last two weeks but I tend to buy coins in small groups and take a break for a few month's. Felix completes the trifecta of Pilate, Festus and now Felix which make a wonderful three piece set from such an interesting time and place.

Felix coins seem a bit more pricey than that of Festus so low on the budget I choose this one for my case. I'm so excited to put this one in the set and for $15.00 it's a great coin.

Absolutely no apology necessary. These are great. Congrats on the completion of this particular trifecta. And thanks for the history lesson!
